Terms of Use
Last updated 1 November 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Hatem Samad, an individual based in Malaysia, who runs Campus Ummah (campusummah.com). By using the site, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
What Campus Ummah is
Campus Ummah is a platform where Islamic societies list events and people register for them. Each society runs its own events. We aren't the organiser of those events, and societies don't act on our behalf.
Your account
- You must be at least 16. If you're under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
- Give accurate details, keep your sign-in private, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account.
Events, tickets and payments
- Payments go directly to the society. We don't collect, hold or transfer money, and we aren't a party to any payment.
- Refunds and disputes are between you and the society. Contact the society first. Check payment details are right before you pay.
- A place isn't guaranteed until the society confirms it, where an event needs approval or payment.
- Societies decide the details. They may change or cancel events and decide who can attend, including brothers-only or sisters-only events.
- Attending is your own responsibility. Check the details and follow the society's and venue's rules.
If you run a society
- You confirm you're authorised to act for the society, and that what you give us, including verification details, is true.
- Verification and a verified badge mean we carried out certain checks. They aren't a guarantee of or endorsement of the society, its events or its people.
- You're responsible for your events, your team and your co-hosts' access. That includes accurate listings, delivering what you promise, refunds, safety, permits and any taxes.
- Use attendee data only to run the event it was given for, ask only for what you need, keep it secure, and follow the data protection laws that apply to you.
- Payment details you add are shown to people registering for your events, so make sure they're right.
What you can't do
- Impersonate a person or society, or publish false, misleading or fraudulent events or payment details.
- Post anything illegal, hateful, harassing or that promotes violence, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Misuse other people's data, or contact attendees for anything unrelated to the event.
- Try to break, overload or get around the site's security, or collect data from it automatically without our permission.
Content you post
You keep ownership of what you post, such as posters, logos and event details. You allow us to store, display, resize and share it on the site and in promoting the site and your events, for as long as it's needed to run the service. You confirm you have the right to post it.
Removing content and accounts
We may remove content, or suspend or close an account or society, if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken, or to protect people or the site. You can stop using the site at any time, and ask us to close your account by emailing campusummahsupport@gmail.com.
The service
Campus Ummah is currently free for attendees and societies. If that changes, we'll tell you before any charge applies. We may change or stop features. We work to keep the site reliable, but it's provided "as is" and may have interruptions or errors. Keep your own copy of anything important, such as attendee lists.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for events, what societies or attendees do, payments between you and a society, or indirect losses. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have by law that can't be excluded, or our responsibility for anything the law doesn't let us exclude.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and disputes go to the courts of Malaysia, unless the law where you live gives you a right to use your local courts.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top. For important changes, including if the person or country responsible for the site changes, we'll give notice on the site or by email. Questions? Email campusummahsupport@gmail.com.
